All Solubag products will eventually dissolve at any water temperature, but their instant dissolution temperatures vary. A Solubag’s dissolution is specifically designed for its unique use. Most of our T-shirt bags will dissolve instantly in cold water, while our mesh bags will dissolve instantly in boiling water.

If you live in an area that receives heavy rain, our dissolvable mesh bags that only dissolve in hot water would be the best solution. Just like a paper bag, the T-shirt bag wouldn’t last too long in the rain, but with our wide selection of reusable and dissolvable mesh bags some rain shouldn’t be a problem.

When water breaks down a Solubag, the final solution consists of water and a harmless amount of carbon. This water can be safely consumed and can even be used to water your plants! Don’t worry about polluting the ocean or other water systems because Solubag does not harm the environment.

Compostable bags have been around for a while, and many are not aware that they require composting facilities. Most cities do not have industrial composting facilities, so compostable bags end up in landfills where they won’t break down. If they fly into the ocean, they will harm sea life. Solubag will dissolve in whatever environment they end up in because they break down within 180 days.

Most plastic substitutes use a portion of crude oil that blends with food or other agricultural products. The result is virtually the same devastation of natural resources and the AME degradation problem as conventional plastics. Compostable plastics need a very specific environment to decompose. The conditions in landfills differ significantly from the conditions the compostable plastics need to decompose. As a result, the compostable plastics do not decompose naturally, but disintegrate, much like conventional plastics. An enormous amount of energy, water and trees is needed to make paper bags.

None of the alternatives are the solution.

TABLE OF BENEFITS

If the bag dissolves at 85°C, it behaves in the exact same way any other liquid poured into the sink. If the bag is properly dissolved, it cannot clog the pipes.

Yes, if the temperature reaches 85°C, it will dissolve in any kind of water.

Place the non-plastic or carrier bag in a container of water at least 85°C and stir. Solubag will dissolve within 5 minutes. Alternatively, throw Solubag away and it will dissolve naturally in the landfill < 180 days.

Yes, we can make bags of many different sizes, shapes, with different material thicknesses, printing options or different solubility temperatures.

Yes, it is FDA approved. But it is always advisable to wash vegetables prior to preparing.

Only the carbon and a small amount of harmless substance remain in the water after the bag dissolves. Don’t worry about your health. The inventors themselves drink the dissolved bags during their presentations, demonstrating their safety. All inventors value good health.

The same or greater load capacity of classic plastic bags and carrier bags. The robustness of the Solubag material, from which the bags and carrier bags are made, can be customized.

Yes, the material is still evolving and we are working on improving it. At this moment we can offer garbage bags, laundry bags, face masks, dog waste bags and our wide assortment of retail bag variations. Chile is working on toothbrushes, crates, food containers, single-use tableware and other applications.

No special equipment is needed for the production of Solubag nontoxic bags and carrier bags – they can be manufactured in the same machines as the current flexible plastic films. The machine just needs to be cleaned, we set the temperature and replace the oil granules with Solubag granules. Simple as that.

Not at all. Even if the bag is thrown in mixed waste, it decomposes within 180 days and only natural substances remain.

Not at all. Decomposition of the polyvinyl alcohol CH2-CH-OH produces water and carbon. This carbon is not in the form of gas and does not enter the atmosphere as a greenhouse gas.

The raw material is made from calcium carbide and natural gasses, creating non-petroleum polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). A similar substance is used to coat vitamin tablets.

You can, however the current print has a few limitations – it can only be printed in 1-3 colours using our environmentally friendly, food grade ink. Printing is to be ordered from us at Kyosun Europe to ensure print quality.
